Marie Lewallen

Marie Lewallen earned her MFA in painting and drawing from California College of the Arts in 2007.  After two graduate years of battling her paintings as they heaved, twisted and morphed into entirely different work than what she came in with, she sat down the brush for a while to recuperate and clean up the shrapnel.  Tomorrow's Wink is a selection of work from the last five years that Marie has been painting.  While these works span the distance between social realism and abstraction, the evolution of her figures is clear.
