Charles Taze Green
No formal education. Self taught in watercolor, wood and metal arts. Brief stint assisting in the Box Shop under Charles Gadeken in San Fransisco and local San Diego artist John McDavid. Both experiences revealed to me art is bad business without scrupulous self discipline, and I am an undisciplined so it must be for my own personal need of expression.
I've seen city skylines in 57 countries, mostly traveling 3rd world. Behind the silhouette of sunset all dilapidated skylines are as beautiful as Europe's finest. Hidden are the tank and bullet scars of Sarajevo and Palestine, entropy and failed economies. That brutal reality is the brush stroke applied to texture my sculptures.
